After working in sales and marketing for consumer product companies in Chicago, George became a fulltime resident of Harbor Country in 1996. A real estate license soon followed.

“My family first started summering in this area in the 1920’s, so I have been a fulltime resident or a weekend resident of Chikaming Township for my entire life,” said George. “In terms of real estate, I have a deep understanding of our area and I really know the needs of the vacation home buyer.”

George’s corporate experience, combined with his lifetime in Harbor Country, is a strong advantage for his clients. “Over 95% of my buying clients are vacation home buyers from the Chicago area. I am used to working with high level professionals, so my knowledge, style, advice and communication skills complement my client’s needs,” Lucas commented.

In addition to having a thorough understanding of the Harbor Country area, George has developed a reputation for having excellent listening skills and for giving his clients solid information and honest opinions so that they can make an informed decision. “Others may tell a client what they want to hear. I educate my clients on what they need to know” said Lucas.

George has also developed an expertise in successfully marketing properties that are in an estate or are owned by more than one party. “I excel in difficult situations and I am also able to find the market for difficult properties,” said Lucas.

A licensed real estate Broker in Michigan, George holds a BS in Business Administration from Valparaiso University where he was a member of the Varsity Wrestling team, and the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and Graduate, Realtor’s Institute (GRI) real estate designations. George is very involved in the community. George is a Past President of Chikaming Country Club in Lakeside, is Vice President of Chikaming Open Lands (land conservation trust), an Officer of The Lakeside Association (provides scholarships for local kids), and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Southwest Michigan Association of REALTORS.
